Janitorial Supplies : Scrubbers and Sponges
If
you've ever flipped through a catalog of scrubbers and sponges, you
probably were amazed at just how many different kinds there are out
there.
There is a scrubber or a sponge for every purpose you can think of, and some you probably didn't!
Many people still stick by steel-wool pads for cleaning pots and pans.
We carry steel-wool and soap scrubbers by SOS, Brillo, and generic brands.
We also carry what you may have heard called a
"Hotel Pad" or an "Institutional Pad". These are just a larger sized
steel-wool
and soap scrubber, at approximately 4" x 4".
The Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean has become very popular over the last couple of years.
These soft white pads 'erase' stains like scuff marks, crayons, and dirt with just water.
There are no caustic chemicals inside and no gloves are needed when cleaning with these super sponges.
We have clients using these for a number of cleaning purposes you may not have thought of, such as...
....cleaning the walls at a day care center,
cleaning tanning beds (everything but the acrylic), and cleaning salad
bars.
We also carry another eraser
product by 3M - which is their 4004cc White and Blue
Scrubber.
3M produces a number of different scrubbers and sponges....
# 86 Scrubbers are 9" x 6" Heavy Duty Green pads that are great for baked on food.
# 88 Scrubbers are 3 1/2" x 5" Blue pads for pots and pans. Great for
getting thick sauces and cheese out of your pans.
# 96 Scrubbers are 9" x 6" Green pads for everyday cleaning. Perfect for kitchens.
# 9650 Scubbers are just a smaller version of the #96. These green pads are 3 1/2" and are again great for everyday cleaning.
When a lighter touch is needed, try a # 98. These 6"
x 9" White pads are softer for cleaning stainless steel, chrome,
copper, and porcelain.
3M's 2001 Power Pads have a bow-tie shape for easy handling and are great for medium to heavy duty scrubbing and scouring.
They also produce three times less scratching than stainless steel scrubbers. Pads are 5 1/2" x 3 9/10".
# 2020 Scouring pads are purple with an
open web design that allows food particles to rinse out cleanly while
reducing scratching by up to
11 times less than stainless steel scrubbers. These pads are 4 1/2" x 2 4/5".
3M # 74 Scrubbers are a traditional scour sponge with a green scouring side and a yellow sponge side for easy everyday cleaning.
These scour sponges are 3 3/5" x 6 1/10".
# 63 sponges are for surfaces that need an
extra-light touch, like nonstick surfaces, fine china, ceramics, and
glass.
These have a very light scrubbing surface on the
white side, and a sponge on the yellow side. Each pad is 3 3/5" x 6
1/10"
Finally, we also carry traditional cellulose sponges by the case.
